11 Best Places to Live In Indiana

10) West Lafayette

Just west of the bigger, more crime-ridden city of Lafayette is West Lafayette. Home to the prestigious Purdue University as well as the historically famous Amelia Earhart and Neil Armstrong. The low crime rate and high education standards is what makes here a top choice to live. Lafayette’s residents are also a highly educated bunch; 94% have completed high school while almost three quarters have a Bachelor’s. West Lafayette-ers love their outdoor activities. With hundreds of acres of parkland and an 18-mile paved path bisecting the city, there’s plenty of space to get out and get active. One drawback to West Lafayette is the median annual salary is under $30,000. This is quite low, especially when you consider the high cost of real estate in comparison. Overall, though, this city certainly lives up to its reputation.
