9 Ways to Make Your Job Less Miserable
8) Find a way to cope with your boss
Nothing can destroy an employee’s good will and an office’s productivity like a horrible boss. It could be the clueless owner of a small operation or a middle management drone with delusions of grandeur. Right or wrong, they call the shots, and they are the one to whom everybody answers. Usually the best course of action is to try and work it out, like mature grownups. Employees can try creating a buffer zone between themselves and the boss. This can be as simple as communicating via email or text as much as possible, or getting coworkers, who may get along better with the boss, to be a liaison of sorts.
If the boss is grossly incompetent and/or actively harassing an employee, a log should be kept of every incident which will make it easier for the employee to document proof should the matter make it to HR or even as far as court.
