9 Worst Cars You Can Buy

5) Toyota Tacoma

The attractive Toyota Tacoma, which has been around since 1995, underwent a redesign that added several desirable features, but it still missed the mark with Consumer Reports. It’s good for going off-road, but the loud cabin and stiff ride hurt its rating. The reliability also rated as much worse than average. Some of the positives mentioned were the added connectivity features, in addition to safety features including blind spot monitoring and a rear cross-traffic alert. The website MotorTrend.com echoed some of Consumer Reports concerns, noting that the updated cabin is nice, but the four-cylinder engine is insufficient and it’s simply too noisy on pavement. The Tacoma gets 19 mpg and the price ranges from $24,825-$37,820. The Honda Ridgeline took the top spot in the compact pickup truck category.
