10 Most Affordable Cities In America

tulsa

6) Tulsa, OK

Tulsa is one of the smallest cities on this list, but has all the charm and entertainment of the bigger cities. As a small city, the median household income is slightly less at around $49,000 with median prices of homes around $123,000. This ratio provides great affordability.

Much like it’s counterpart on this list—Oklahoma City—Tulsa has several colleges to boast such as The University of Tulsa and Oral Roberts University. It also has one of the more unique entertainment venues in the country—the football rivalry between Jenks and Union high schools, which is considered one of the best rivalries in America. It is so popular that a well known documentary, “The King of the Mountain” is based on the rivalry.

Tulsa is also horse country with the annual Arabia Horse Associations U.S. National Competition displaying what many believe are the most beautiful horses in the world.

Tulsa has an invigorating nightlife, plentiful restaurants and is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts, however, it is the Philbrook Museum of Art that may offer guests the best experience. Beautiful both in and out, art lines the walls of an amazing mansion on a stunning landscape.
